As a Dutch author and publisher, I have been working for five years in close cooperation with Publikum in creating some of the most remarkable books ever made. The Limited Editions of ‘Kingdom by the Sea, a Celebration of Dutch Cultural Heritage’, ‘Kingdom by the Sea: 500 years of Dutch Design’ have gained huge media attention all over the world, due to the fact that the covers are made of China porcelain. Publikum created a firm, two-layer cover board in which the ultra-thin porcelain tile fits perfectly. The cover itself is a work of art.

More recently, The Gold Edition of my latest book, ‘Secrets of a Master Painter’ was launched with a nearly one kilo, 18 carat gold cover, sprinkled with pearls, as an artistic rendition of the famous painting Girl with a Pearl Earring. It is an understatement to say that not only are my book covers of impeccable quality but their interiors are as well. It takes true craftmanship to publish a book about the works of Dutch Master Painters spanning five centuries, to print the photos of the masterpieces in their original colours just as they are on display in museums around the world.

The dedication of Publikum’s team to first class technical skills and prompt service is, for me as an author, far more important than simply collaborating with just another printing company that is price competitive. And guess what? At the same time, as the publisher of MarkMedia & Art, time and time again, the quotes proposed by Publikum have always been very competitive, never exceeding my budget.
